We all understand well the importance of education and what it can do for our children.
In 1991, the St Thomas Church in Santacruz (West), Bombay decided to start a school in one of the less fortunate areas of Bombay. What started out as 11 students in 1991 has blossomed to 1,876 children in 2020, just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along the way Ginny, Laura, Christina, and I have been very supportive of this project and have contributed to its ongoing expansion. At the present time, we have two teaching shifts: 7am-noon and 1pm-6pm to educate our children.
The needs for this school are numerous. Most of these children would have no place to study or go to school were it not for the tremendous efforts of the managing committee, head mistress, teaching staff, and support from members of the congregation, friends, and well wishers.
Recently, a two-story structure over recently acquired land adjacent to the school, with the ground level floor being a new entrance and hallway for the school. Above, an additional six classrooms were added to increase enrollment and decrease some of the congested classrooms.
Certainly any help from you would be much appreciated. If you would like more information on how you can join us in support of this project, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Update: January 2020
Ginny and I visited the school in January 2020 and what we saw was nothing short of spectacular. The school educates 1,876 students in two shifts; there is a morning and evening shift split evenly among the number of students. Additionally there is an adult education class, primarily adult women. To date, some of the school’s alumni have proceeded with obtaining CPAs, MBAs and so forth. Truly great news and a joyous visit indeed.
